The first steps of South Africa towards a brighter future have been unsure and hesitant. In a small rural school in Limpopo I met and photographed the first generation of children to grow up post apartheid. They are the nation's renaissance.

My son Christian had a relapse of a Kidney tumour in his leg 6 months before his fourth birthday. His treatment included some intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy. My attitude to life has been completely changed by the experience.
