Madeleine Penny


Photography Director and Producer

Madeleine began her career picture editing for the Financial Times.
In 2009 she launched Eureka, monthly science magazine published by The Times, in 2010 the Eureka app, and 2011 the Eureka Young Photographer Awards and Exhibition. While at The Times Madeleine produced and art directed a series of short films for the London Olympics, which ran on   Sky Sports.

In 2014 she art directed the launch content for Mosaic by the Wellcome Trust, then became picture editor of the Sunday Times Magazine. More recently she has become an art buyer in advertising, creating and producing work on behalf of BBH, adam&eveDDB and Mother London. She is Director of Photography for Avaunt Magazine.
She is co-owner of StudioMM.

She is interested in seeing well researched documentary and reportage projects, portraiture, and still life photography and anyone adapting to moving imagery. She is not keen to see fine art portfolios or landscape photography. 

Madeleine can offer photographers “An unbiased editorial DOP’s opinion, and an art buyers view of work. Honest advice about how to develop a project, and how to approach editors and art buyers”.
